Rocky Mountain National Park
lots of Elk!!!
The drive to the summit was filled with amazing scenery all the way to the top at 14,000 feet!!
Lots of small waterfalls created from melting snow
and it was Cold!!!
that is alot of Snow for June!!!
We stopped at a look out point, hubby said that cloud formation looks weird, maybe a fire.....I said NO WAY....
It was really windy and really cold!!
to cold for sandals!!
with in five minutes those puffy clouds was indeed a Fire.....
we kept driving.....
stopped again and it was really getting big...
at the top!!!!!
driving back down the mountain it was getting hard to breathe....
this fire did not get as out of control as the other two fires that started this same day did....the one in Colorado Springs was so bad, destroyed 100's of homes. After the tragedy in Arizona where 19 of our Hot Shot firefighters were killed (one was the Son of a Lady I worked with at the bank) I am just glad no one died in this fire.
