Day 1 off to the Emerald City!!!!!

First stop is a Must see in Seattle!!! The famous Pike Place Market, it was built in 1907 and is the oldest continually running public farmer's market in the United States.
This area of downtown Seattle has some of the oldest streets in town.
At the fish market you can see and buy all kinds of fish, none for me, I do not like Seafood!!! This large mouth fish was hooked to a string and for bystanders unaware like myself, they will yank on the string and it would seem the fish is attacking you, my sister knowing I was standing to close for comfort caught a pic of me scared to death!!! I cannot figure out how to upload it here from her disc or I would show you it!!
When some one purchases a large fish, they will toss it to the back to be cut up, but that is always a crowd favorite watching them toss the fish back and forth!!!
The fruits and vegetables looked so fresh and tasty, so I had to have a Washington State apple!!!
Tulips were in season , so they were everywhere!!! Aren't they so beautiful??? Tulips are my daughter Stacie's favorite flowers!!!
We then walked across the street to the famous Beecher's cheese factory!!Their flagship cheese is world famous!!! At 16.95 per pound is a pricey but very good!!!
No visit to Seattle would be complete without a stop at the very 1st Starbucks!!! We had a delicious caramel frappuccino.
A nice leisure walk around downtown Seattle. It is such a beautiful city!!
Then we met up with my nephew Brad and his wife Natalie and son Peyton!!!! Natalie is expecting baby #2 and she had a Dr. appt. to go to and I'm so glad they rode the ferry over to the city to meet us for dinner!!!!
Walking around the beach area downtown, Brad checking out a small tidal pool!!
Brad, Natalie and cutie Peyton!!!Brad just got out of the Marines where he served 2 terms in Iraq. Brad was in a very scary helicopter crash during his 1st tour of duty, but luckily was just slightly injured and sadly a few Great Marines lost their lives.

Walking on the wooden pier.
Sisters posing on the pier, we had dinner here at a Seafood restaurant, I ordered a burger!!!
Checking out the local lighthouse.
Living in Seattle is such a different and exciting way of life for us here in the desert!!!If you want to get downtown quickly, you drive your car on a ferry and it shuttles you across in about 30 minutes!!! Much faster then driving all the way around the peninsula. It was so fun to be here again riding on the Washington State ferry!!!The sunset this night was amazing!!!I was sad no rain or snow the entire trip :>(
We will be going to Vancouver/Whistler early the next morning!!!!!

Oh what a wonderful trip for you. I am sorry that sinus situation is hanging on. I have it too. Earache drives me crazy. I love the way you and your blogger buddies get together. I know of 4 in Ky. maybe we can do that when the weather gets warmer. We had snow again today. Kind of sick of it. Blessings
