Get Motivated Seminar!!

I got up at 5:30 A.M. for this and for those that know me, know this is far out of my character to get up that early!! We left home at 6:45 for what should have been an hour commute into downtown Phoenix!! Much to our surprise a terrible car accident had occurred at 6:40, closing 3 of the 4 lanes on I-10. Apparently a tractor trailer truck hit a car causing it to spin out of control hitting an RV causing it to flip over on it's side and the car ended up on top of the median between the westbound and eastbound lanes. I was furious that we Left in plenty of time to get there early and get a Great seat, once you buy your ticket, either just a general admission, Premier or Executive ticket depended on what section you sat in but seating was open, I was upset that I would not get the "best"seat, riding there with my darling hubby, I soon realized after going through all the what if's, what if we had left earlier, we might have missed this, we could have chosen a different route, we COULD have Been THAT CAR, I calmed right down and said Yes, darling hubby, my wonderful voice of reason, you are so RIGHT!!!!!The Program started at 9, we arrived at 10!!!!!! I could have driven to Flagstaff in the time we sat and drove 1 MPH for 3 hours!!!
The d.j.'s getting everyone all fired up!!!
Mayor Rudy Giuliani spoke about the events of 9/11 and how he worked with his response team to keep the city safe and get them the help they needed.
First Lady Laura Bush spoke lovingly about her family, the update on what they are all busy doing. She said it is very painful to hear all the negative things said about her Husband, but knows that is part of being in that position.
Of all the speakers, I really wanted to hear Laura Bush and Rudy Giuliani the Most!!! So Praise God I did not miss them, however I really wanted to hear Kurt Warner the quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals. He is a Great Christian Man and I really wanted to hear him speak. The main Motivational speaker was a lady named Tamara Lowe, a former drug addict, high school drop out, she said she went from LSD to PHD who only got a GED!!!!!! She even gave her testimony of how she found Christ and even gave an invitation to say the sinners Prayer!!!! Wow, what a surprise to alot of Business people there who thought they were just going to a Motivational Seminar!!!!
I heard Zig Zieglar also, but missed the rest.....but Thank God I am home safe tonight, there was no serious injuries in that bad accident, so that is good news to hear.

Hi Jamie.
I had heard of this Seminar a few months back. I think if I had the opportunity to attend, I would.

Did you get MoTiVaTeD?

Glad you got to hear Mrs. Bush.

Have a sweet week-end!

Oh Jamie...
I am so thankful to hear that you made it there and back again safe and sound. I bet the presentations were just wonderful. I too, would have loved to hear Barbara Bush, Steve Nash and Kurt Warner. How exciting this would be...

Now when are you leaving for the Olympics? I am so excited for you.

I had talked to Charlotte in Scottsdale. I knew Char and you wanted to host a get together, but I thought Charlotte wanted to do something. I must have heard it wrong. Oh well, I hope sometime soon we can all get together again. I have several new bloggers that want to attend this time. I didn't know when you were leaving and when would be a good time to set it up. Do we wait until March now? Keep me posted on your thoughts.

Talk to you soon. Much love and many hugs sweetie...Sherry

I love Laura Bush. I love Barbara Bush too. And how sad that I had to get up and walk out of the room when our new President gave his first State of the Union speech last week.
OK, photography.
Close up clear and behind it is blurry is called shallow depth of field. You have to set your ISO according to whether you are inside or out. 400 is good for both if you have enough natural light.
Your aperture or F-stop needs to be a larger number. If you are trying to get something moving - since you mentioned the Olympics - you will need a faster shutter speed.
My best suggestion is to take your camera and a piece of paper and a pen - go plunk yourself in an environment that will be similar to where you are going and SNAP AWAY. Take note of what settings you are using. See what works and what doesn't. Write it down! But you must PLAY with the camera - ALOT if you are ever going to be comfortable. Sit there for like an hour. Experiment with the AV and TV which does half the work for you. (explained more in depth in my post).
I hope this TINY little bit of info helps. :)
Now - why are you still sitting here? GO PLAY!!!
:) Karen

My daughter was supposed to go to this but she had to go to a meeting in the governor's office at that time. She hated to miss it. I'll bet it was great.

What a great group of speakers. I'm so glad you got there safely. We've had a few really bad accidents around here lately too. For us, I think it's the weather. People around here need to be a bit more cautious during the rainy season.

Stop by if you get a chance. I've got a Piggy Paints giveaway going on that is just perfect for your little Princess C.

Take care and have a great weekend.
