"Friends are relatives you make for yourself!!!!"

Our son's girlfriend's parents came to visit AZ from Michigan this past week. They left cold and wanted warm sunny AZ weather. After a few nice days they headed up north to see the Grand Canyon and what they saw they almost could not believe, they got caught driving up north in Snow so much snow in fact they got stranded over night in Flagstaff, they were driving in White Out conditions!!! They called their son back home in Michigan and the weather was nicer back there then where they were here!!!If they had not experienced it they probably never would have believed how much SNOW Arizona really gets each year, quite possible more then Michigan gets!!!!This has been a very wet; rain and snow winter for Arizona!!!!We met them for dinner one night so they could meet the family, my daughters and I have met them before, last year at Jesse's College graduation, but my husband and son-in-law had not met them. It was nice to talk and get to know them better, but they came and spent the night at our house and when you are sitting around your home talking for hours and then waking up and talking around the breakfast table you really connect and become more then just friends you become a surrogate family in a way!!! SO as my title states friends are relatives you can make!!!
Having lunch out on the Patio at the Mammoth Saloon!!! No beer for us at the saloon, just some cold drinks and yummy burgers!!!!
Listening to the live entertainment!!!
On the dusty main street!!!!
Riding on the only Narrow Gauge Railroad in AZ!!! The track is only 36 inches wide where as most train tracks are 56 inches!!!This tour gives you a little piece of history on the town of GOLDFIELD now known as a Ghost Town!!!At one time this was a bustling gold mine town!!
The Elevator tower that takes the elevators down to the bottom

One of the elevators some of the miners rode in to get to the bottom of the mine.
An old entrance to one of the many gold mines out here in this area.

The Beautiful Superstitious Mountains in the background of this quaint little Ghost town!!!
Thanks Greg and Deb for the fun memories we shared with you this past week!!!!And for raising such an amazing daughter!!!!

Oh Jamie Sweetie...
This is just precious. How wonderful for you all to get to know them so well. It sure does make things nice, especially if the girlfriend becomes a DIL sometime in the future? Ya never know. Lovely people and their daughter is just precious Jamie.

Thank you for sharing sweetie. How fun is this trip. Many hugs sweetie and so much love, Sherry

Tis wonderful that you are on friendly terms with your son's girlfriend's parents!!! This has got to be a blessing.

Ghost Towns are neat to visit. The ones I've been to are interesting, but kind of spoooooky and it's not even Halloween.
Fun to think who might have lived there.
God bless,
d

I had no idea Arizona got any snow, but it does make sense now when i think about it. Glad they got home safe and that everyone gets along - that is so important.
