Boulder City Theatre!!!!

On our way to Vegas, we made a detour through Boulder City to stop here at the Historic Boulder City theatre!!!!It is owned by Desi and Amy Arnaz!!!!
Stepping inside the door, my daughter just fell in LOVE with this place!!!!She was a ballerina until she turned 16 and chose Cheerleading over continuing her dance classes. She wishes I had saved all her toe shoes!!!!Isn't this delightful???? Alot of Miss Amy's (that is what her students call her)students give her their old shoes and they sign them and they hang here!!!!
I had the wonderful and delightful chance to meet Amy and she is such a dear sweet lady, she got out of her car and gave me a hug as if we were old friends!!!!She and I started writing back and forth only a short time ago, but it has been a Huge pleasure getting to know her!!!!
Their theatre is so historic, it was built back in 1931 and at that time the only building in town with air conditioning, so the hard working men who worked on building Hoover Dam this was a welcome place to come!!!Today the theatre is home to Boulder City Ballet Company which Amy runs and puts on the annual NUTCRACKER BALLET. Also a few live plays, they are getting ready for the Wizard of Oz to start showing!!!
Corie and Miss C checking out the theatre!!!
The play posters were all around town!!
Camdyn loved dancing about in one of the many ballet rooms!!!!She is perfecting her Pirouettes now!!!!
Amy was so generous and gave Miss C this lovely doll that a lady in town makes to go along with a character from one of her 3 children books she has written, she autographed one of the 3 books we took with us!!!!Amy also gave me 1 box and a collectible tin of chocolates with her very famous Mother-in-law on it, that was always my favorite episode of I LOVE LUCY, where her and Ethel get jobs at the Chocolate factory!!!! I will be re-creating that scene for you very soon!!!!
"A good friend is like a wonderful book, the inside is even better then the cover"
Amy took us on a little tour of Historic Boulder City!!! Of course our first stop was the sweet shop!!!!Will's Mom was so excited for Will to meet her!!!!
The quilt shop in town!!!!
Amy, Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to give us a very special tour of your lovely city!!!!
And THANK YOU again for all the great gifts, it MADE MY DAY!!!!!

Hi Jamie,
I still watch I Love Lucy! The job at the Chocolate Factory is one of the funniest there is although last week-end Lucy was a Ballerina and during this one Lucy was so funny.

What a great place to visit and truly sweet that you got to meet your new friend in person. Fantastic.

Take care and God Bless,
d

How fabulous!! What a thrill meeting Amy too!!! Kelly and I still love Lucille Ball, she was marvellous!! So funny!! I realised though that we (in the UK) a have totally different sense of humour to you in the USA!! We were watching clips from I Love Lucy in Universal, Florida, we were all laughing, but Kelly and I were laughing at different bits to the American people!! Anyway, what awonderful time you had in Boulder City!
