Day 3 off to Sedona and Jerome ARIZONA!!

We decided to head up North and get out of the heat for 3 days!!!We decided to drive UP to Jerome first!!It is an OLD copper mining town!!!!Full of Ghosts we were told!!
Must stop at the candy store!!Jerome businesses are famous for their doors!!So we saw all colors.
HOUSE of JOY!!!You know.....
A hike upstairs to the HAUNTED HAMBURGER!!Alot of steps up!This town is built on a hill, so some of the town is UPHILL literally!
The haunted hamburger is a famous stop for food, Rachel Ray stopped here on her $40.00 a day show. The food was very good.
Miss C looking at the Ghost collection.
The now famous Jerome Hotel, was once the town hospital/asylum. The town was very wild and full of all kinds of strange characters. You can look the stories up on google!!

Miss C brought her cute little umbrella along as we heard thunder and saw rain clouds, she was so excited for it to rain!!Walking around the hotel, look at those old water pipes!!
The rain is coming!!
While Miss C, Mommy and Grand-dude took a nap, Stacie and I decided to go for a drive around town. We ended up in Cottonwood looking for the winery. But these farms look more like Indiana then AZ!!!
Here comes the RAIN!!And Rain it did!!
We stopped at a cute Park, this is a real wind mill turning to pump water!!
see the holding tank???
Loved the pond
We finally found the Winery/Vineyard.Page Springs Vineyard.
look at all those grapes
Who would have ever imagined ARIZONA as grape growing country!!

I never knew there were so many different kinds of grapes!!!So glad my daughter was along to help me out with these names. Disney paid for her to go to A wine Sommelier class and she passed, she said it was very difficult, so she now wants to continue on with the next level.

Hi Jamie,
Such nice pics of you and your family! Jerome is my Mom's favorite town to visit when she is in AZ. visiting my brother. She has always loved it so much and says she finds it fascinating. I was there once, but now I want to go back. Hope all is well with you.

Oh, my, I would love to make a trip to the Haunted Hamburger! I love hamburger places!

OH, don't get me started about the president's "visit" to our gulf. All that means is we pay a lot more money for him to vaca while they close streets and make life harder for those who need to get to work! And yes, the only reason they are coming is because of her comment.

Aren't I sweet???

LOVE the monsoon! YAY! OMG Il ove the storms!

Love the wineries! Can't think of a better way to spend the weekend. I have never been to Jerome it's looking like we're going to have to visit there . . .

BUT! The stairs! Ugh. Not with my feet the way they are right now . . . but hopefully we'll get to go soon!
We love Sedona. LOVE Sedona. Love the 4wding. And of course, the storms! L)

Howdy Jamie!
Glad you were having fun with your family. I've been to Sadona before and liked it. I can't remember if my folks took me to Jerome when I was a child. We would take family vacations and see ghost towns in Colorado. Kansas has a few ghost tales and towns. When the wind blows it's kind of eery. Tumble weeds and all.

I didn't know Arizona had grapes to grow for wine...just got educated! There's a winery not to far from where I live.

Having wineries around here surprised me a whole lot. I grew up in sw Kansas and to think that other parts of Kansas make wine was eye opening.

Like your post and I will have to check the ghost stories out on the internet.

God bless,

Boy to I have memorie's of Jerome and Cottonwood, I would stay for weeks with Aunt Marie and Uncle Eddie, and we would drive to Jerome to see the hippie's. He was so funny. Thanks for the memorie's.
Sure didn't know there was a winery there though.

Love seeing the pictures of Jerome. Haven't made it there, but definite must for my next trip to Sedona. Haven't scheduled yet, but I'm overdue. Just have to live vicariously through your great pictures. Take care and keep cool.

Hugs, Buttercup
