"I stand for personal responsibility and against anything that undermines it.

I saw this QUOTE today and it is PERFECT for what needs to be said. MOST people Do not take any responsibility for their Actions, in fact, they try and turn the situation around and PLACE the BLAME on someone else. I undestand they are afraid to accept the consequences of their bad behavior because of FEAR of what is going to happen to them. Honestly if People OWNED their behavior and Said I am Sorry I screwed UP this Country would be Far better off then it is. We are teaching our children that they can act badly and make an excuse that I did it because so and so was Not  nice, NO excuse. if you did it, OWN it. Make it right.

So true Jamie!
What is wrong with just saying "I'm sorry, I was wrong, please forgive and I will try to do better".
Hubby and I tried to teach our kids that and we sure do hope they put it into practice.
We tell them we're sorry when we are wrong too and others as well. Not always easy but it makes you feel better about yourself.
Hugs friend,
Cindy

I agree 100%. You said EXACTLY what has been on my mind lately. "It's not my fault!" "I did it because....." You are SO right in saying that people need to own the consequences of their actions. We have this issue going on in our lives right now too, and the way you worded your post was precisely in tune with our thoughts about this topic. Bad behavior is bad behavior. PERIOD!!! And especially when it's repeated over & over & over. Makes us want to get in the Winnebago, turn off our phones, and disappear. So tired of certain people misbehaving and dumping their trash onto us. Now... I will proceed to have a wonderful day! xoxo Amy

I agree whole heartedly. I try to accept ownership of my errors. It truly has become a "not me" world. Thanks for the reminder.

Amen sister!

I like to watch that show "What Would You Do" with my kids. It is amazing to me that most people don't do what's right or take responsibility when they are "caught on tape". There are a few shining stars those and it reminds me that one person can make a difference.

Totally agree. Some people do so many things wrong and do not admit fault. Perfect example: Casey Anthony to just name one. But, those who "lie and are dishonest" will at some point have to face the all mighty judge someday and he knows all truth.

You are so right! I think parenting has gone out the window. I was friends with a women who seemed to think it was ok for her son to disrespect her and walk all over her...when he started to do that to me, I told her I didn't like the way he was treating me and that I don't put up with that coming from a child or anyone for that matter. She got angry at me and said she is a mama bear and how dare I tell her, her child was acting badly....give me a break! if I would have talked to my mother the way he talked to her and I...here comes the lava soap!!!! LOL! and a butt woopin!!! A lot of parents have no idea what harm they are actually doing to their child by NOT teaching them right from wrong, I'm not saying go and spank them but go and TEACH them and if you have not a clue how to, get help from someone who does... These same children are supposed to run our country some day???? needless to say, she and I are no longer friends. last I heard she is still having problems with him and now he is an adult! I hate to say I told you so.......Have a very nice weekend Jamie!!! Hugs, Jennifer :o)
