WHAT DO YOU SAY................

It is with a very very SAD heart that I must somehow explain to this little girl, that her BELOVED little PONY friend, Pebbles has passed away. I got the saddest note from her owner today. The pony had apparently tried to crawl under the stall and got choked to death. We have decided to just tell her that the PONY now lives at somewhere else. No reason to break a 3 year old's heart, she can deal with heartbreak a little later in life.

OH, I'm so sorry! That is very sad and I do believe you're right. When little ones are just so young they don't understand.
Thanks so much for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

I'm so sorry! Probably wise to not go into the death thing right now. Sometimes, I wish I didn't know about it even at my age...I'm weak and cowardly.

Aw, this is SO incredibly sad!!!
My heart breaks for that foal's momma. (Yes, I totally believe animals grieve.)
I think your decision is a good one, Jamie ... let's protect the little ones while there's still time!

Oh my gosh, I am still just sick about this. She LOVED Pebbles (or Pokey, or Pimples as she called her) so much! I think its best to tell a "little white lie". She is too young to understand anyway.:(

Jamie, This is a very good explanation to a 3 year old.
Age appropriate to where she can understand.

Oh Mimi......How sad......he looked like a great pony! I agree, it is easier to tell her he has gone to live with someone out of your reach.....three years old shouldn't need heartache....Sandy

So sad! Poor Pebbles. Thoughts for your note. Got through Irene well and am just gearing up for tomorrow's surgery. Thanks for all of your good wishes.

Oh, that is so sad Jamie!
I think you have the right idea, no need to make her feel bad when she is so little.
We have enough heartache to deal with in our lifetimes as it is.
Hugs friend,
Cindy

Well... that is a tuff call. But I think I would do the same thing. :(

Poor little thing.
