J. Paul Getty Museum and Villa
While the kids napped in the car with Grand-dude, Corie and I decided to visit this Amazing Museum. In 1945 Getty purchased 64 pristine acres In Malibu. In 1954 he opened the Original museum in his home to showcase his collection of Greek and Roman Antiquities. It is Free of Charge, you just pay to park. It is known as one of the Best Cultural landmarks in Calif.
This is an old coffin.
They have a Large collection of Biblical Antiquities on display along with a STATUE of APOLLO, excavated at Pompeii, Italy. No Photographs were allowed to be taken of the sculpture, it was discovered in 1817, but the Volcano destroyed Pompeii in 79 A.D. So it is QUITE OLD!!!The statue was of Apollo shooting an arrow.
This was fascinating. So preserved yet so old.
Some of the jewelry worn by Ladies in the days before Jesus was born.
A display of some armor one might wear.
The Villa Garden Pond
