Mother's Day 2011

My Nest....really is empty. Literally all the baby birds have left the nest, and in our nest, the last one has left as well. I am SO PROUD of him, Proud as a Peacock actually. Sad, yes, but I am going to look back at the nearly 26 years we had him at home and we know He is a GREAT Man and will be successful in this new stage of life for him.
We actually have 2 nests in our tree this year, and if I was fast enough I could capture these beautiful occupants, they are tiny little black and yellow birds, I have no clue what they are, but they are fascinating to look at and I love when they sip a drink of water from my fountain. I will keep pursuing a pic of them!!
About a week ago, I made myself  LATE for an appointment as I was trying to Capture this picture, never got it, today my hubby wakes me up--early, To see this, a family of quail in our own backyard!!!The Proud Protective MOM and DAD looking down at their darling little family. Hmmmmm, Sounds kind of like the MOM And DAD that lives inside this house as well. Always looking after them and wanting them to know we are Right up here keeping an eye out for you, with Pride and Joy and Much Love.
Some of their babies got to close to the pool, the Mom was frantic, making her sound of Distress. MY hubby ran out to the rescue!!

Saved by the DAD of the House, he would save his own kids at any risk. I know he would, so would I.
Grammie C came to church with us today, and not only was she celebrating mother's Day she also had a birthday this day!!!She got this lovely bouquet of flowers from her Sister in law delivered to our daughter's house to give to her. We took no chances of this beautiful bouquet dying so we brought it inside!!!
look at that little hand holding on, so sweet!!!
Kisses for Aunt Casey!!!!Aunt Casey loved our church and says she is coming back for sure!!!
Brunch, where are the boys????just a pic of the girls!!!
 She steals my heart everyday!!

I need to sneak Stacie in here some how.....hmmmmmm   I think I can do that!!!
The girls all went to the MALL, train ride, oh you bet we did!!!She was singing me a song...her favorite "The wheels on the bus", and we have made up LOTS of verses all on our own, like the Baker on the bus says "do you want a cupcake???WHY YES!!!The Soldier on the bus says "God Bless America" and we always salute!!!!We have lots and lots of verses!!!
She decided to be a mall mannequin, waving at all the passer's by.
GOT YOU!!!So funny!!I am so glad I was taking pics and Captured this one!!!
What a Blessed day it was, and I felt so loved and So Happy!!!

What a fun Mother's Day for you. I love the pictures of the quail. They are the most adorable birds. Good luck on the little birds in the fountain. (I'll give no photographic pointers. ;o) Your grandbabies are beautiful.

There are two lasting bequests we can give our children: One is roots, the other is wings. You've done your job well. Kathy

You transitioned from your son leaving the nest to the baby birds leaving the nest with grace. I admire you for transitioning, it seems, without too much drama. Maybe it's your grandchildren that sooth your soul since now you have them to hold, to love, to spoil and to adore. I especially love the photos of your granddaughter posing alongside the mannequins in the window. Precious. xoxo Amy
