Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castles!!!!!

DREAM or REALITY!!!!!BOTH say I!!!!It was Beyond a Magical fairytale day!!This is something this "Disney" family has wanted to see for a very long time. Walt Disney designed his Castle at Walt Disney World after this real life Castle. Former home of King Ludwig the 2nd.
The village of the KING'S CASTLES is Schwangau, it is surrounded by four lakes, most famous of those is Swan Lake. This is the Castle where King Ludwig the 2nd was raised, it is called Hohenschwangau. His childhood was thought to be a happy normal one. Where his life took such a bizarre turn, no one really knows. His death is still a mystery there and I think that is part of the appeal of it all is all the secrets and mysteries.
Here we are standing on Marienbrucke(Mary) Bridge, it is an old foot bridge that none of us really wanted to walk across, so we ventured out this far to get a good pic!!!Here is a pic below of Stacie outside of Hohenschwangau Castle.

Our morning started off with us checking out of our Munich Hotel and driving to Furstenfeldbruck to meet up with Anja and her family, they were coming along for a fun fairytale day!!This is their LOVELY home. It was on a quiet ivy lined lane.
Here is Efie giving me a tour of the yard, her neighbors have a Pool!!!Is it really warm enough to swim??? It's heated!!!
There lovely back yard, with their very own apple tree and a fish pond.
 Loved the pond!!
 The Living room
Love this kitchen and I loved my Cappacino too!!!!
We have arrived in Schwangau.I wish it hadn't been raining!!!

Our first tour was at Hohenschwangau, I forgot NO pictures were suppose to be taken inside, only OUT the windows!!!
A replica of a suit the King perhaps might have worn.

 The view out the window!!!

The surrounding area is Amazing, no wonder they built there Castles in such a fairytale place.
We Loved ALL the Crowns everywhere!!
Dad and his lovely daughter, we love taking vacations with our kids and it is so fun to get to spend some quality time with her.
In the Horse drawn carriage for our 20 minute Ride UP the hill!!!No way were we walking that HIKE and in the rain!!!

 Inside the Castle!!!
This counts as out the window doesn't it????
 Why yes says I!!!Hehe!!
This is the courtyard of the Castle, this place is HUGE!!!
Going up more stairs, I forget how many floors was in this Magnificent place, we were allowed to take pics of the working kitchen. Look at all those copper kettles!!!

SO breathtaking, after getting out and walking over to some of the look-out points, I nealy had to pinch myself!!!Was I really really here!!!!

 The view Below!!!!

On the bridge, we saw this lovely waterfall!!!
That is a long way down!!

Oh what a special day, I will always say, we were at a Castle for our 35th Anniversary!!!Well in that week anyways!!!!

Ooh, ooh, I love castles. You seem to be a natural there. You are so regal and dignified. (I mean it!) I can see you entertaining in a massive ballroom. Elegant.

Glad you got great shots of the castles in the sunlight. We were there on an overcast day and my pictures weren't as nice. Plus, the castle was under construction so there was scaffolding everywhere:(( What did you think of that bridge?!! We had over 50 Japanese tourists on it when we were in the middle...Adam thought it was going to collapse!

I've been to these castles too!!! you took much better pictures than I did though :) these are amazing. we had rainy weather and couldn't see the castle until you were almost to the top. The best part of the king's castle was the bed...so small and weird. Looks like disney from the outside but definitely not from the inside. beautiful pictures!! love them!!
