WE are home!!!!

It was a long road trip!!! But alot of fun as well!!!
Here are a few highlights!!!
1.Saddest-Leaving Stacie behind in Florida and missing the Alamo
2.Scariest-Crossing over the Lake Pontchartrain Bridge-it is 7 miles in length, much shorter then the Lake Pontchartrain causeway that is almost 25 miles long, making it the longest bridge in the world.Scary because it was rush hour traffic and they are building a new bridge, so it was somewhat under construction.
3.Funniest-after crossing the bridge into New Orleans, suddenly traffic came to a complete stop, I thought" great rush hour traffic", after driving a few blocks, we noticed a very large DEAD alligator in the middle of the highway!!!! Why you ask would an Alligator cross a highway??? To get to the other side!!!!!I wish I had Not been driving because I would have hung out the window for the funniest picture on the trip!!!!! I rolled my window down and laughed my head off, C.J. and Jesse thought I was crazy!!!!
4.Maddest- getting a speeding ticket in Ozona, Tx!!! It was 80 mph speed limit, I was going 92!!!! I didn't think C.J.'s little Honda Civic could even go 92 mph!!!!! Now I have to call the judge and see if I can go to driving school on the web!!!! The cop was really nice, he asked me in his thick Texas accent"Maam why were you driving so fast and where are you going in such a hurry"????I told him HOME!!!!!!
5.Bravest-Riding the elevator to the bottom of Carlsbad Cavern, it is 750 feet to the bottom of the cavern. Due to time limitations we had to take the elevator instead of walking the 1 1/2 mile trail into the bottom of the cave. I thought I was going to lose it coming up, since the elevator was completely full. If not for C.J.'s arm around me, when that dumb operator decided to turn the lights off in it, I think I would have screamed!!!!!
6. Happiest-Getting home safe and sound. We thank the good lord for keeping us safe for 2300 miles and 5 days of traveling!!!!!
Pictures will be posted on Wednesday!!!!!

Glad you made it home safely! I can honestly say you are braver than me! I am not scared of elevators, but I am of heights and in the dark none the less, NO THANK YOU!! Sorry about the speeding ticket, hopefully you can do the web class, they are easy ;)

Julie's comment made me LAUGH so hard....isn't that the excuse you gave the cop in Vegas when you were with her??:)

No not Vegas, it was in the desert after we went quad riding. But yes mom told the cop that Julie had it to get out of a ticket then.... Sneaky sneaky hahaha!

BY THE WAY GIRLS!!!!!
I did not lie, Julie really did have diarrhea --so that is why I said that, and lucky me it worked!!!!! I never even thought of an excuse, as I was so embarrased over how full the car looked and how we packed it, I couldn't even roll the passenger side window down, couldn't find the rolling down thing. If I opened that door, something might have fallen out on him, maybe even killed him and then I would end up in some small town hell-hole jail!!!!
So right at the moment I just told the truth and very nice too!!!!I was scared to death!!!!
So diarreah wouldn't have even crossed my mind!!!!
love,
mom
